Water retention is a phenomenon in which the water present in the body gets absorbed by the cells which is also called edema. This generally happens when the extra cellular intracellular fluids balance gets disturbed due to improper sodium potassium levels in body.

  7. If the edema is present on legs then once taking time from full day just stretch your legs above your heart and keep them on the walls this will elevate the circulation and the water will get back to the places where it is needed.
  8. Decrease salt intake especially taking table salt after preparation of food as this will definitely contribute to increase water retention in body; even avoid excess sugar as it is also a culprit for your problem.
  9. Take a glass of water mixed with lemon juice daily in the morning after waking up as it works as good diuretic and easily available in home follow the same for some days and eventually the excess water will flush away along with urine.
  10. If the water retention is on various body parts then consult doctor you need to take strong diuretics in the form of medicines so don’t wait and rush to the doctor and take the proper treatment from him.
