How to get rid of hard water? - Softening hard water tips

Hard water generally refers to the water that is high in mineral content like calcium or magnesium and is quite difficult to get over the stains removed by them or to drink the water as it is. Hard water causes quite a few problems as in this the detergent wont work properly even if you take bath you will not feel like it as it coats the body with its mineral composition.

How to get rid of Hard Water naturally?

It is even dangerous for consumption if the hardness is more than required it can cause stones in body so even your problem is severe don’t go for cheap water softeners as they will not work just follow these tricks to get rid of hardness in water-

1. If you are planning to install any system either for drinking or for other purposes first check the hardness of water there is a meter that checks the hardness and it is important to keep the hardness below 3.5 GPG its unit grains found per gallon.
2. The first thing you can do to reduce the hardness is to install RO filter for drinking water purpose as it reduces  the hardness to minimum and changes the taste of water as packaged water bottle and its good for body too.
3. If you fix this filter in home then your other problem will also get solved I am talking about washing expensive clothes as they get faded if washed by hard water the thing to do is after every week you need to change the filter water so remove that water in bucket that will full your bucket and wash your precious cloths in this water to keep them clean and new.
4. The best way to reduce hardness of water is to install water softening devices no they are nothing special its just they will reduce the mineral saturation from your water by exchanging ions of these minerals to that of lighter mineral ions and it works quite well if you install this in tap water as it will solve all the hard water problems.
5. The water softener I am saying about uses table salt in one compartment and resin in another the hard water first goes through resin tank where the calcium and magnesium is removed by the use of sodium ions and then the brine (high saturation of salt in water) solution enters first tank to remove it and to keep particles of plastic containing sodium ions in reusable condition.
6. If you want a temporary solution from hardness of water just boil it in large container for a minute or two and remove it in another vessel this way the minerals present in hard water gets precipitate at the bottom of first container and the water in vessel is soft one.
7. There is another option available called lime treatment it is also a equipment where the lime after the reaction with calcium and other mineral in hard water gets deposited in bottom and then the filter throws it out of the water this also reduces the hardness of water to much extent.
8. If your bathroom or vessels are stained from hard water then the best solution is to use vinegar it completely removes the minerals from the water as its acidic for this just pour vinegar and leave for some time then wash with hot soap water this will remove the stains completely.
9. To avoid the formation of hard water stains on the vessels it’s preferable to use liquid dishwasher as it forms foam on the surface where the hard water couldn’t leave the stains on and cleans them perfectly.
10. To get rid of hard water without using salt the best way is to use magnetic conditioner it use magnetic field to clear away the calcium and magnesium ions in water and if applied on main tap our house will get soft water and it is not that costly too go for it.
