If you apply to get more credit then you may be hurting your credit score further. Avoid applying for more than is necessary.

If you have a credit card, then check that the credit level is at 50% or less of the available credit.

Keep in mind that with a low credit score, it will be harder for you to get access to credit, and the credit that you can acquire will be more expensive than it would be if you had a better score.
