If you stored away every old computer that you don't use any more, you might soon run out of storage space. Don't let this worry you, though, as there are various ways to get rid of your old computers, and all of these ways are either free or cost about the price of an ad in a newspaper.
Ways to get rid of your old computer?
- First of all, someone could use your old computer. Or maybe you could trade it in on a new one. At the least, you could pay a small fee to a recycler to take it off your hands.
- Many charities would love to take your old computers.
- Advertise it in your local classifieds, Ebay, or Craigslist.com. Look through any place you attempt to sell first to make sure your not competing against people who are giving away comparable or better stuff.
- Look up “Recycling” in your local phone book to find places close by that will take your old hardware.
- Some computer companies such as HP, Gateway, and Dell will take your old, worthless hardware off of your hands for free when you buy a new PC through them.
