One of the most common ways that people neglect their computers, is by not doing a routine computer cleaning. When cleaning your computer, it is important to never use a liquid cleaner to clean any parts of your computer components. If you must use a cleaning spray agent, spray the liquid onto a cloth first and then rub down the component that you wish to clean.
If you would like to use a vacuum, only use a vacuum around the computer and the case. Never use the vacuum inside the computer. You do not want to use a vacuum to clean your computer because it generates a lot of static electricity that can and will damage internal components of your computer.
How to clean the dust from the CPU?
Remove power cables. Carefully remove the power cables from the hard drives, floppy disk drive, and your optical drives.
Remove IDE or SATA cables. Remove these cables as well so that they don’t block your way when thoroughly cleaning it.
Remove the processor fan and heat sink.
Removing the heat sink and the fan varies on the type of motherboard and processor. Refer to your manual to determine how to remove it properly. Start cleaning it by using your vacuum, brush or canned air. A vacuum cleaner is more effective and easier to use.
